Michelle Compton
is the owner of Sterling Settlement Services.
She was previously a Co-Owner and the Managing Partner of Madison
Settlement Services-Hagerstown, LLC office.
The Hagerstown office with branches in Martinsburg and Frederick was
managed by Michelle from July 2013 to January 2021. Michelle has
gained extensive experience and knowledge in all aspects of the settlement
process through her 30 years of experience where she has been a paralegal and
licensed settlement agent with extensive experience in Maryland, Pennsylvania
and West Virginia transactions. Michelle has
been blessed to have been involved in an industry that she adores since she
was in high school. She developed a
taste for the legal profession and, in particular, the real estate field
while working at a law firm the summer before her senior year of high
school. In 1989, Michelle was hired by
the Senior Partner with a law firm in Martinsburg, where she was a paralegal
in the field of real estate law. Under
the excellent tutelage of this premier attorney, she was trained in all
aspects of the real estate industry and became “hooked” on the complexity of
the real estate transaction and solving the “puzzle” that went along with
each individual parcel. During her 11-year tenure with the firm, Michelle was
promoted to the Office Manager position, where she managed the firm’s three
office locations in Martinsburg, Charles Town and Hagerstown. Thereafter, Michelle spent another 10 years
with a Maryland title company where she was a licensed settlement agent and
served as a Production Manager. Among her many
hobbies, Michelle enjoys target shooting, auctions, football, jet skiing,
reading, watching movies, and cruising in the vintage cars that she shares
with her husband of 25 years. Michelle
and her husband have dedicated many hours of time and service to local
charities, and are proud to be volunteers with Habitat for Humanity of
Washington County over the past 25 years. Known for
bringing the same enthusiasm and high-energy approach to the job, Michelle
states that providing high quality title and settlement services brings her a
great deal of satisfaction. “I love the excitement of a new homeowner when
they get their keys to their new home!” she states. “No matter the size of
the transaction, whether it’s a $50,000 deal or $1,000,000 deal, everyone
deserves the same attention. It is my
goal to provide unparalleled service and attention to detail because each
client is purchasing their dream home.” |
